Understand the measurement.
Inertia, controlled load and axle synchronisation: choose a test principle that fits the information you need.
DYNOmax / PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTInertia measurement
Inertia testing evaluates the acceleration of the rollers. DYNOmax 1500i is the dedicated 2WD inertia model in the range. Vehicle preparation and consistent test conditions remain important when comparing results.
Braked measurements
Electromagnetic retarders allow a load to be applied. The catalogue distinguishes dynamic power, inertia power and static power or road simulation. These are different operating limits and must be matched to the planned procedure.
Axle synchronisation
SYNCHRO 500 uses electric drives to support axle synchronisation. For hybrid and electric vehicles, the drivetrain controls and safe test modes require individual assessment. The concept does not establish universal compatibility with every vehicle.
Software and additional data
The catalogue lists DynomiZer Wireless software and Omron sensors. WiFi modules for lambda, OBD and weather data are listed as options. Their availability and use depend on the vehicle, required analysis and ordered configuration; an optional module is not automatically included.
Conditions are part of the result
Vehicle condition, tyres, restraint, cooling and measurement configuration influence the test procedure. Record these conditions and keep them consistent for follow-up measurements wherever possible. The gear and engine-speed range also belong in the preparation.
Define the question before choosing the equipment: a power run, the shape of a curve or behaviour at specific load points. A clear objective helps narrow down the platform, method and additional data channels. Compare model specifications in the comparison table.
